Forks: How big is too big? was created by ShaneDude
Im want to put gaiters on my 77 KZ750 forks to protect the forks. Ive been told the forks are 36mm in diameter. I found some NICE sturdy fork boots but they measure 41mm at the top and 46 at the bottom.

Can I fit these without getting them scrunched?

I'd rather go a bit smaller than larger, as the top seal should be tight to protect from water ingress. I used these on my 36mm forks, and the bottom stretched over my dust seals no problem.

    Thanks for responding.

Those that you linked have been said by many ppl to dry out quickly. They are made by a company but sold across ebay and elsewhere, including 4 into 1 in San Fran which sells a lot of bike parts.

My plan, if I get them, is to zip tie them.

Maybe try to find some that will be a better fit? These are 37mm top diameter, Ebay item number 353939145445. No idea how long they'll last!

An Ebay search for "fork gaiters 37mm" finds them and similar.
