I can't tell what I'm looking at.  My steering stop is bent from an accident.  mine is basically a short piece of steel rod welded to the frame.  since the upper triple would then bang the fuel tank, I drilled a hole & tapped some threads then installed a ss bolt to keep the tank from getting dinged.

I know, The pictures suck, but there is more to come.  I cut a triangle shaped piece out of the gusset, Took out the pin(it was almost already free) and ground off the old welds, and tacked it back in place. At least it wasn't perfectly centered! So then slightly thicker metal  around the pin and presto!

the original picture is of the stop crushed up into the gusset, flush with the gusset

Interesting. I thought the steering stop was that much larger bit on the front of he steering head.
