I'm going to need brake shoes for my KZ400S (Front & Rear)...
Anyone have a good source?
DP appear to only make pads for the front disc.
EBC doesn't even list the KZ as an option on their site.
I've checked the "go to" sites like OBB, Z1, and Bike Bandit, but no dice...

I took mine to a local outfit that relines brakes for antique cars.
They needed the hubs to size them right.

DennisKirk.com has four sets of brake shoes for the KZ400 - not sure about the S specifically, but I think the part numbers are the same.

As i mentioned, if you go to the manufacturers website (DP), they don't list shoes for either KZ400 model, only pads for the front Disc, which i don't have.

Dennis Kirk shows only one set of shoes, and they're listed only as a "possible fit".DennisKirk.com has four sets of brake shoes for the KZ400 - not sure about the S specifically, but I think the part numbers are the same.

It so happened that I bought a complete KZ400S front hub (drum brakes) for one of my projects. Before I bought parts I checked if brake shoes were available. It was weird not to find parts lists for S-models on Partzilla. Luckily they could be found on Megazip:
1975 S1: www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dlya-motocyklo...31550/kz400-s-684115
1976 S2: www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dlya-motocyklo...1550/kz400-s2-684116
Megazip says that 41048-019 is part number for front shoes. Turned out that EBC make them and also some amount of OEM pads are still available:

Also some other motorcycles were equipped with same shoes:
www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dlya/kawasaki/...41048019?q=41048-019
Rear brake shoes have part number 42019-003. Some OEM and Emgo shoes are available:
