Swingarm upgrade for KZ1000st?

I have 1980 KZ1000st and I would like to know if there is anyway to mount a wider rear wheel/tire? Is there a swingarm from a newer bike that mighgt fit?

I'm preparing to pull the trigger on a GL900/1000 Eliminator swingarm. just to see if it will fit.

I'm choosing to be optimystic.
