Hi guys, Im looking for a factory 1979 kz1000 MKII swingarm. Mine currently has a extended swingarm. Im trying to restore back to factory specs. Im wondering opinions on switching back to the factory length. Ive never ridden one with factory length. If anyone knows where to find one or is selling one id appreciate it.

I have a couple extra swing arms. I cant seem to find a part breakdown showing your MKII. If one that I have works for you Id be open to trade.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationAccording to the Partzilla.com database, the 1979 KZ1000A3 (mk2) swingmarm is part number 33001-1079. This same part number is used on the 1979 and 1980 KZ1000A MK2 (A3, A3A, A4), and is also used on the 1980 KZ1000 Z1R (D3).

That's a pretty short list of models for an exact match. I don't see any on Ebay currently, or recently sold.

My guess is that there are other models that would fit with your frame/wheel/brake. I don't think they changed very much for the 1977-1980 models, but the brackets and guard mounting tabs might be a bit different between other models.

Poking around Ebay, it looks like the LTD swingarms have a different bracket for the chain guard.

But this one, listed as a '78, has brackets that seem to match the parts drawing. It might be compatible.

If DOHC is correct I don’t have a swing arm. Check Johnny’s vintage. I think I saw one reconditioned just recently on his site

If keeping semi stock i would put a police kz1000p
One on. They are beefed up and braced more..and should bolt right up. I have one some where that I was going to use...but went with a zrx one instead.
