They are just commen wafer locks. You might be able to find a #2 wafer from another lock and swap it in. They are typically help in place with 2 small springs. I have a KZ900 seat lock I can check out later and see if what I said was possible.

EDIT, if that’s the case you can broaden you search for a lock with a number two (2) in any position

? No wafer locks, don't know what that is? These are seat locks that differ from the 76 and up seat locks, i have a bag of the 76 and up seat locks in various key selections. See pics.

Yes wafer lock. its a type of core or cylinder. not what its used for.
EDIT you should be able to get a #2 wafer and swap it into the core. the lock has to have a way to come apart.

OK so I took a look at the only seat lock I have for my KZ900. Its a matched set so I'm not going to tear into it BUT there is a roll pin located on the bottom of it and I'd assume its what retains the core in the housing. Its pressed in flush with the housing so im not sure how you would get it out, maybe a screw extractor and it might twist out. So that being said without seeing a Z1 seat lock Im just talking out of my backside but it should come apart. If you can get the core out of the housing and you have an extra lock with a number 2 in the key code you could swap it into the 755 lock.

EDIT. Lots of work just trade if you can... LOL

Just goes to show, you have to "borrow" from other trades to experiment, ha. I'll try what you mentioned on the bad shape one! This is restore that has only a couple aftermarket items, seamless headlight ears and oil tank. Wanted to have the font of whatever key-set to be matching.

OK, call me stupid. Wouldn't a locksmith be able to re-code the lock cylinder so it matches the others? Might not be cheap, but depending on how bad you need it done it may be an option.

Yes, the locks can be re-coded but each lock has the key number inscribed on it. If the tumblers were changed then the key would not match the inscribed number. The keys themselves also have their number inscribed on them.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I know about the inscribed numbers on the locks and keys. So the object then isn't so much to be able to use one specific key for all the locks, regardless of what numbers are stamped on them, it becomes having all the lock cylinders and keys with matching numbers correct?

I think both would be objectives, particularly on a restoration project. It's one area I've never spent any time attempting to do with my Z1B's.
