Anybody know if the shafts will interchange... I just bought a 82 for $75.00 swingarm gone shaft torched. Just happen to have a 81 with blown engine but suspension is still untouched. i bought the 82 for parts bike BUTT hoping parts will cross over. 81 is a 750h on a ltd chassis... Will have the 82 home in morning. more info on it then

I can't say for sure, as I can't find a 1981 shaft drive KZ750 - but going with my gut it'll be fine. 82 and 83 share the part, as well as the 84 ZN700. It should be pretty easy to tell whether or not they work.

The 750H Ltd should be a chain drive. Do you mean drive shaft or output shaft? You can compare stuff at Partzilla. also, EB pics can be helpful.

I'd thought it might be a year of production thing! I think the parts should swap over with no issues.

If you get around to removing the driveshaft from either engine, pay attention to where on the floor the tiny dowel lands. That's 20 minutes I'll never get back

Kawasaki transmissions use a feature they call a "neutral finder" or something to this effect which keeps the transmission from shifting through the range when the bike is at a stop. Your transmission may be just fine.

I actually thought about asking that very question... I was amazed how the shaft was coupled to trans.. Was using a leedle to prob a tiny hole for pin, threads screwhead or somthing and i tripped the litttle roller pin...Wasnt 20 minutes but a good 5 before i seen it perched on the top of the trans cogg ....pics are the day we brought it home and #2 is today
