Rear master cylinder hose

I had a hard time finding the correct EPDM hose at local automotive parts stores.

I did find this. US-made, by Goodyear. Way more than I need but cheap enough:

I used Galfer for steel braided hoses. You can give them measurements or send them your old hose to copy.

Oh, I thought he was talking hose from master to caliper. Should be able to get low pressure hose almost anywhere like Amazon, or even an OEM hose for another bike with the same ID, and a similar curve if it has one.

The diagram at Partzilla shows a straight hose there, so just for a lark, I decided to look at new Kawasakis to see what they look like. Evidently, straight hoses have gone out of fashion. I did see that the last few years of copcycles and the early 600 Ninjas shared a nice, straight hose hat is still available. I do not know the dimensions, but maybe somebody with one of those models will take some measurements and post them.

Yes, I'm talking about the hose from the master cylinder reservoir to the rear master cylinder.

It should be EPDM hose, not just any low-pressure hose, as those aren't rated for brake fluid.

The hose I bought is 1/4" ID.

I make my own brake hoses with Earl's PTFE-lined, -3 Speed Flex hose and fittings.

1/4" is 6.35mm., and may be a tad loose if OEM is 6mm. My guess is OEM hoses may be a standard size,and getting one for the bikes TexasKZ suggested might pay off in the long run, Can anybody confirm the OEM ID?

Done this before with fuel/vacuum hoses, and English sizes are often not the perfect fit.

1/4" ID is correct for my '82 GPZ1100.

Here's a quote from Wired George dealing with 1/4" on a metric Mikuni carb.

"If 1/4" plugs are used, put a dab of super glue on the bottoms of the caps so they don't pop off when the bike is operated or use small hose clamps."

I did the same thing on mine, and yes they popped off.

I know it will work, but not the tight OEM fit. 6mm.
