1980 550 LTD frame

I'm looking at buying a 1980 kz550 LTD ...I want to make it hard tail bobber bike ..I see they make a hardtail kit for the following

KAWASAKI KZ400 / KZ440 1971 - 1983 HARDTAIL REAR FRAME SECTION MK71

Is this the same frame as a 1980 kz550 LTD

A 440 is a Twin, so the frame is different. Do you know how to weld? Is this your first motorcycle or what? Thanks.
