I’d like to have a set. The rear wheel on my bike has a splined part (to accept the final drive’s splines) held in by a large circular clip, which locks into a groove inside the left half of the wheel’s center. Is this groove present on GPz wheels (or even early wire-spoked wheels)?

I don't think it will work. From EB pics I'm not seeing the groove & the shock damper ribs are different.
