Broken part , replacement options?
20 Apr 2020 06:22
Hello kzriders. So, The rear brake switch broke for the 78 kz1000 b2. Part # s show the special item is no longer available as new @ z1 enterprises and partzilla. I saw some old used options on ebay. Any other suggestions or comments for a good new replacement option? I'll hope to keep things as original -as possible w/o overpaying to "get there".
Here is broken part. Snapped right in half !
Part # 27010 017 and

Z1Enterprises.com lists an aftermarket version. search the OEM part number.

I wonder if pvc glue or E6000 would make a strong enough bond?

I know you want to stay as close to stock as possible, but I my opinion if a non OEM parts is used that improves the bike. It’s ok. Here’s an option. This is a generic photo you’d have to find one that would fit your rear MC.

It's a common failure. I've had a couple go like that. I get replacements from Webike in Japan.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

As noted above, why not just get the part from Z1Enterprises? seems pretty simple to me.

Heck, that one looks better than stock and half the price of a used one.

From a quick check it's the same PMC part sold at Japan Web!ke. I don't know if it's made in Japan or Taiwan or what.

I have the PMC one from Webike. Great quality, no issues.
Just be careful on webike... it's super easy to add up a big bill with all the awesome stuff they have
