Replacement Adjustable Or Dog Leg Front Brake Lever

Has anyone ever found an adjustable or "dog leg" style replacement front brake lever for a 1977 KZ-1000A1? If you did, could you share your source for this lever? I did find a later style Kawasaki non-adjustable "dog leg" clutch lever for my bike that I like, but the brake lever is much more elusive due to changes in the master cylinder design. Thanks for any suggestions. Searching for this item turned up a lot of threads where people were switching to later style front brake master cylinders and I want to keep the original one.

Rick, do you talking about a BREMBO Style MC Leveler?

I wonder if a person could make one similar to that out of a stock lever?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI found these and bought a set about 6 months ago for a custom build. Haven’t started yet, still acquiring parts and waiting on frame, swing arm (GS1100E), and small parts to come back from powder coat. I wasn’t worried they were black. But I assume yo could them the recoated.

Mikaw: The ones you showed are pretty much what I have in mind. The brake lever looks real close to my stock lever so I will give them a try and see how they work. Thanks much. Shipping time is lengthy, like May 5th, but may be it will be nice out by then.

Please let us know how it works out, Rick. I've been on the look-out for a black dog leg brake lever ever since 1981 or so and an incident with a rain soaked yellow centre line!

Rick, I feel very confident they will fit, the silver ones were on my ‘76 LTD. I had been looking for replacements for years. Still wanting to get the silver ones replated.

Will do BCScott! I was sent a tracking number for the order which shows a dramatic reduction in shipping time. As soon as I have them I will see if the work. I purchased a dog leg clutch lever from Z Power on a whim just to try it and as it turned out I like it, but they don't sell a matching brake lever. So it will be interesting to see if these work once I get them.

Okay, so I received the black dog leg levers that Mikaw referred me to. I was surprised as I got them really fast. I haven't used or tried the clutch lever as I already have one on my bike from Z-Power that I like . I installed the brake lever and immediately noticed that there was a lot of play in the lever both sideways and fore and aft. I adjusted the lever screw and the for and aft play was almost gone but I left a little in as the FSM suggested. Measuring the two levers for thickness revealed the new brake lever was thinner than the old one. I made up a brass shim for it as none of my flat washers were thin enough and installed it under the lever. It's trapped by the pivot bolt for the lever so it won't fall out. There is a bronze bushing in my old brake lever which could help reduce the side to side movement and I may try to install that in the new brake lever, but would require some machining to accomplish. All in all I really like the new lever as it brings the lever closer to my hand which is what I was after. I like to cover my front brake a lot and the new lever makes it much easier to do this. For me it was well worth the investment and I am happy with it.

I did a M8 shaft bolt upgrade to reduce the side to side and up and down movement/Play.
Bore Diameter for the leveler = max. 7,85 mm!!!

I see the difference in ID of the factory lever with bushing and the Dogleg without. Good thing is the OD of the brass bushing is larger than the ID of the hole in the Dogleg. The bushing could be put into the Dogleg. I checked all other dimensions between the new OEM and aftermarket Dogleg and the are pretty much spot on. Per my measurements the clutch should be a tighter fit than the brake.
