Hi,

I have a 1981 KZ650-D4 (The SR series of KZ650 was internally known as the Kawasaki KZ650D.)

And wondering if there is other gas tank than my orginal who will fit my frame and support/brackets?

1981 KZ650-D4, with 1981 z750L engine (Wiensco 810 big bore).

oops, don't know what happened to my text...anyway what you saw is a 77 b1 tank on a 78 d1

What is the gas capacity for your tank?
1981 KZ650-D4, with 1981 z750L engine (Wiensco 810 big bore).

Thanks. Unfortunately, I no longer own that bike. The capacity of that tank is around 4 gallons. For a more exact figure, just look up the capacity of the kz650b1 model.

Ahh, what bike do you have now?


4,3 gallon is what I have found, I have 3,7 gallon today.

0,6 gallon more capacity, around 24 exstra miles... hem need to find more pictures to see if I like the design :)

I don't know if the F1 tank is the same as the B. and I don't know if it fits the same as the B. but it uses the same rear damper.
maybe 650ed knows the answer. ???

They look identical to my tank !

The fuel "valve" mount is the same also ?

Here's a pic of the 1977 KZ650C1 petcock. That year had no fuel gauge, so the petcock attached to the only opening on the bottom of the tank. Ed

1980 KZ650F1 fits, any KZ650B or C from 1977-1979 will fit. Those will give you a little extra fuel tank size. I doubt any other tank fit directly. Kawasaki and other brands work long and hard to make each model size different and not interchangable.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
