I am looking for the headlight bracket and bucket for my 1981 kz1000j. I removed the vetter fairing and need the factory headlight parts. The headlight bucket/bulb are available on ebay, but I can't find the bracket that mounts them to the front forks. This is the only part I need to get the bike finished. Any help locating the bracket would be appreciated. I included a picture. The bracket for a Ltd or CSR model will not fit. I think this bracket is specific to 81-83 1000j models. Thanks!

Best to try the beakers in your area. What country are you in?

I'm in the US. No salvage yards in my area, but I have looked/will continue to look online. Thanks!

I agree, its definitely a rare part. I've mainly looked on ebay. Hopefully, I can travel to some of the bigger swap meets held in the US each year. Thanks!

Perhaps one from an 81-82 KZ1100 would work until you find the correct one. Plenty of those available (11036-1038)

That looks very interesting. I notice the ears are in a lower position on the bracket than the one in my picture. When I look at the partsfische diagram at Kawasakioemparts, it shows the ears at the top. I'll do some further checking. Thanks!

For the one Daveo suggested, maybe you could cut off the upper mounts & get them re-welded in the correct position. I'm assuming the fit otherwise is good, but the bottom mount doesn't look the same so that could take some fiddling. I would fab up a jig to hold the bracket & upper mounts in the correct position for welding.
