Anybody have a supply of these OEM Shock upper bushings they care to sell? Or has anyone found an equivalent bush with the correct durometer hardness? I know the "Emgo" aftermarket shocks use a Wayyy too soft rubber.

They are still available from Kawasaki. Try Partzilla.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Thank You. That's exactly what I did after leaving the topic thread. I wasn't sure of partzilla shipping charges, sometimes it's way more than the part, especially when buying multiple items. Got 8 pieces with 7.95USD shipping, not too shabby, plus sales tax of course. On the same note does anyone have a Datecoded 3/5 Z1 shock? I have these shocks, Z1/KZ OEM shocks re-chromed and Zinced. The last batch I had done they heavy chromed over the datecode.

Also does anyone have a preference of POP companies? I have a small batch of shock uppers I need done. Plating on plastic is what POP stands for, or does anyone ever gone this far like I do?

Either a bigger mower or contact Monsanto for a couple of truckloads of Roundup!

Like you, I have some POP uppers that need re-chroming. I had not found anyone who does plastic but a friend of mine found a company and sent his to OZ for his Z1 restoration (S/N 1006) and they came back looking great but it was expensive. I think he said $205 AUD. Their contact info is: A Class Metal Finishers Pty Ltd, 6 Waddikee Road, Lonsdale, South Australia, 5160. Tel (08) 8383-4331

Here is a photo of one of his re-done and a photo of the restoration...almost complete but not quite. Still needs a few items..note the lack of a rubber on the shifter. The bike is 100% original as from the factory right down to correctly date coded plug wires.

If I used Round-UP I could be part of the class action suit, the one with the ambulance chasing lawyers on TV ads!! I talked to a company, I believe in New York, last year that was going to do it but they were loaded down with work at the time. Now since I moved for the life of me I cannot find the piece of paper I wrote down their Company name and phone number? That bike is Exactly the restore i'm working on, do they call that a trophy restoration when all original parts are used?

I think I just noticed something else in the photo besides the shifter boot missing. The coil spring appears installed upside down? The OEM coil is tighter wound and slightly smaller on one end, which should face down by adjuster.

I didn't know about the springs, and from the photos I can't tell for sure. He lives about 300 km from me but I have some vapour blasting to do and he has a machine so I plan to visit him soon. Will check the shocks more closely when I see him.

Here are some photos of his "herd".

That's a TRULY impressive collection. I remember years ago I cleaned out a tow lot's bike collection. All stuff that had been to auction but never sold. They wanted them out of sight. $5.00 a piece but I had to buy them all, all 35 of them. Honda cb125 to Goldwing. I was an asphalt contractor so I had trailers and a lot of space to store them. Sold them like hotcakes. These were the days before computer buying, all newspaper advertising. I couldn't count the number of bikes I purchased or were given doing residential driveways, always had to open the garage doors to butt-up to the garage floor. Aww days gone buy.
