Mystery objects...What parts are these? was created by stuconz
While looking for something else today, I came across a little box with some additional parts in it. They look like they are off the KZ440, as I do kind of recall seeing them in the collection of parts when I got the bike. The silver discs look like they are covers from over the indicator stalks, but they are already in place. They might be spares.
The brass type rings / washers however, I cannot for the life of me figure out what they are. Can't see them in the workshop manual (or didn't recognise them if I did).
Are they exhaust spacers?
Any ideas?
Thanks for looking...

Not too familiar with the 440's but the copper washers are exhaust gaskets that go in the exhaust ports and the chrome cup washers are either spare indicator washers as you suggest or from the front footrests that cover rubber mounts.

The exhaust washers get crushed when installed, so they wont look like the old ones. The old ones will look flatter and darker.

The silver ones look like the washers that go behind the foot-peg mounting acorn nuts or possibly the brake pedal mounting acorn nut.
good luck

Exhaut gaskets and muffler hanger rubber damper washers or shock washers. Not sure. Some parts can be used in multiple locations.

Thanks all. Whipped off the headers and I knew I had seen these gaskets before .
The ones that were in place were obviously used, so while I had the exhaust off, I replaced them with the new ones.
And the silver caps were indeed caps for the headlight mounts.
