@zed1015 any chance you would know if the 03-05 zx6r forks would accept your same 35mm internal extension as the zx7 and zx9's? My new exhaust hangs pretty low and I need to have some machined up. Have not taken my forks off yet so was curious if you knew before I took everything apart.

Hello all! I have 2002 zx9r fork tubes that I want to extend approx. 3". My tubes are 46mm. How do I get the specs to take to a machine shop?

It sounds like you'll need to extend the damper rods and the top caps/tubes. Going by what zed has posted you will get a maximum of 52mm (2") out of that. Any more on the top and the forks won't sit in the bottom triples properly. Any more on the bottom and you'll probably lose stability. I'd say new triples with a decent drop is the way to go.
Zed: just saw this thread now. You suggested the damper rod extension in my project thread. What material do you make them from? I have no clue about the properties of different alloys, would probably just use S45C as that's what the shock mounts are made of - will that be OK to deal with on a small lathe?

Thank you for the information. I've never heard of triples with drops. Where could a person find those? I'm in the U.S.

At the bottom of the page is an advert for PDM. The owner is a long time member here and does some excellent custom machining.

They are only short extensions and there's no real load on them exept compression so they can't go anywhere.
