What size fork seal driver do i need to install factory oem seals. Also concerning the seals does the spring side face up or down? The previous owner used after market leak proof seal that are different compared to the oem types. Thanks

The spring side faces down. The ZX550 fork seals are 35mm. Mine are 36mm and I use 1-1/2" pvc pipe & fittings as a seal driver. and also use a good used seal as a protector when driving them >> probably not necessary but that's what I do. You may be able to use 1-1/2 pvc as well.
Be sure to lubricate the seals with fork oil before driving.

1-1/2" pvc O.D. = about 44 - 45 mm.

In addition to what Martin said. seals are generally installed so you can read the writing on them, if there is any writing. It's not a hard and fast rule, but when you have nothing else to go by.

If the springs are facing upwards, the spring grooves are going to get filled with grunge.
