Does anyone have a recommedation for a windscreen? It is for a 75 Z1 in stock configuration. I just can't take the wind blowin in my face or all those tasty bugs like I used to. I don't want to put a full fairing on it. Thanks for any help.

I find that a full face helmet eliminates both problems. Ed

Highly recommend National. Easy on and off.

But, a full coverage helmet works too. :)

Out here we tend to get high winds. It's nice to sit up in a relaxed position at highway speeds or when I'm making my own wind pouring it on. :woohoo:
Helps with the rain and crap flying off dump trucks.
I use the large one in the winter and the smaller one in the summer.

Does that National Cycle windshield help with wind buffeting & helmet noise? Thanks.
As an experiment, I installed an Emgo mini batwing fairing, got it cheap off of EB, but it doesn't help much. doh.

I get zero buffeting or wind noise but, mine is probably about 2-3'' too tall. I am 5' 10'' and you really want the top edge just below eye level. I wasn't about to cut it down. Plus when I use my stock seat it raises me up about 2'' so, then it's perfect. Wanted it for the windchill factor and it does that great. Keeps the cold off my body, hands, and knees. No need for heated anything even though I have those I rarely use them. Granted my commute is only 20 minutes with 1/2 at highway speed but, I can do it with a lighter winter jacket and gloves. I have even left it on right through the summer and have never had any overheating issues either. The only downside is the engine noise is louder of course because it holds that in more.

It helps with the cold and I guess the wind noise some. I get buffeted around slightly but not like with my 350 Honda with the Pacifico batwing style faring. I took it off the 350 but the Z1 has weight and plenty of power to handle it. I'm sure the mileage is down a bit with the larger one.

I'm 6'4" and I've tried a windshield, but I've had issues with buffeting. I followed the general advice of getting one that is approximately eye level, and if I attach it upright, the buffeting is terrible at highway speeds. If I lower it down it gets better, but I have not yet been able to get it working well enough to keep on.

I really just want one for long rides. At high speed I need to lean forward just to counteract the force on my bod, and I really need to put a lot of effort into fighting the wind. The windshield fixes that, but ruins it with the helmet buffeting.

I think this is from 'Puig'. I fitted it on my Bandit as part of my winterizing efforts. It gives no protection whatsoever but it is good for stashing your gloves.
