Rear break disc Kz1100D 83
08 Jan 2019 19:20
Hello guys, I'm new around here.
I'm grateful to find a lot of people who like the kz.
Some time ago I bought a KZ1100 Spectre 83 and I have a doubt about the break disc, is like a flat plate, isn't completely plane. Is this normal or I have to buy a new one? I was looking on Ebay a replacement but didn't find the same. I'll attach some pictures so you can see the disc. Thanx in advance.

Definitely replace it with a flat one. That brake rotor looks to be radically warped.

New or good used should be available. From the diagrams at Partzilla the KZ1100 Spectre has the same rear brake rotor as a number of models, including the KZ1000-P police models thru at least 2001 & various Vulcan models. I'd guess a 2002-05 Police rear brake disk could be used, but it has a different part number which might supersede the old part number. again, just guessing.

The rear brake disk was over heaten and wraped by a fixed caliper piston or floating caliper brake.
Looks like you need to do a caliper rebuild first.

Thank you a lot , I found that some Vulcans have the same disc on the front. I talked with a friend who have a front of one. You save my life.

I didn't think on that, I'll check the caliper. Thanx
