Kz900 Ltd wheel swap on extended swing arm.

Hey guys I’m new to the forum and to the kz world. I’m in process of getting my ducks in a row on doing a extended swing arm from D&G Chassis and was looking for any info on wheel swap options. I would love to put a 180 rear tire on it. I’ve looked around and not having much luck on find any info that has been helpful. So if anyone has anything or info please let me know. Thanks.

Depends  on what swingarm you are using. If it is wider than stock, then you likely can adapt most any modern sport bike wheel that is wide enough for the 180.

Also be sure to consider the clearance between the chain and frame if you use a wide rear wheel / tire.  I don't know the limit, but if you go too wide the chain will rub the stock frame.  Ed

He will need a min. 10 mm front offset sprocket, anyway what kind of swing arm/wheel (5.50 ") he want to use with a 180 tire.

Sorry for some reason I thought I put that in there. It’s a 76 kz900, everything is factory minus the motor, it’s had some work done to it. I’m going with a D&G chassis 8in over swing arm. I found a good deal on some 2001 gsxr wheels, I haven’t bought yet just because I don’t know if they will work. I know I’m going to have to play with offsets and a little of  fabrication and I’m ok with that.

I suggest you call and or e mail  Les Holt  who is a  member and vendor here on KZRider

Look at the bottom of this page and contact him at PDM  fabrication.

He has helped many members here  with  advise and  parts if needed to do a job like you are  doing
