I Have a early 1977 KZ-1000 A model. Are there still key blanks available to have extra keys cut from ? Hardware stores and bike shops have been no help so far. Thanks to all..... p.s.., the ignition key is marked, Taylor, U.S.A., X24.

As long as you have an original, it should be no problem. I also have a '77 KZ1000A and only had 1 key. I went into my local Home Hardware and had a bunch made up. My blanks are by the company ilco and are marked X54 and DC1.
Back in the saddle and loving it! KZ1000A1

Thanks BCS. I went today to my local home depot, U.S.A., and no go. They said It was not in there database. and for me to try a locksmith, so I ended up here.

If rstnick mentioned above doesn't respond, try EBaayy. You might be able to find a key blank or the exact same key already cut. Some sellers list the key code that is found on the ignition switch, seat lock and helmet lock. Also, try looking in the Ilco catalog. I use an Ilco KA 14 X 103 which looks almost identical to the original Kawasaki key that came with my motorcycle.
