Does everybody hate my handle bars?

Thought I'd take a poll. I hear all kinds of trash talk about LTD handlebars. But I've owned my '82 since day one and love them.

Cons: The look. Too narrow, too high.

Pros: I like the look. Seems to define a cruiser muscle bike. Narrow? maybe I'm just use to it, but never bothered me, and the height gives you a more comfortable straight-up posture ride.

I couldn't picture the J handlebars on my bike.

How wide are those bars? The stock handlebars on the 650-CSR are the worst and maybe about 26" W or less. They're kind of like buckhorn bars that jam your elbows into your sides and were very uncomfortable. I hated those bars. Flanders medium tall street bars were a vast improvement, but those weren't any good at high speed as the riding position was too upright. They were great around town, though, and I'm guessing the 1000 Ltd bars are wider than than the 650csr and similar to the Flanders bars I had.

Handlebars are like shoes. Everybody has their own size and favorite style.

If the ones you have are comfortable for you, and they give you confident control, and you like their style, then they are perfect for you. What the rest of us think is irrelevant.

I just threw away the bars that came off of my 750H, which appear to be the chrome version of yours. I prefer the look and feel of lower bars, but that's personal preference.
