Nice bike . Cool handle bars .

If I were you I would get the correct seals . Not fun when you do a job and spend time and money then have to do it over . I try and use oem parts whenever possible as Ive never had much luck with aftermarket stuff . Sometimes you have to as not everything is still available .

Looks like a great project you have there
Gpz 750 turbo The one I ride
Gpz 750 turbo Not finished
Gpz 750 turbo Not started
Gpz 550 1981
Gpz 550 1983
Bunch of other junk

Fork seals are rather important. I'd be surprised if incorrectly sized seals could be forced to fit and work right afterwards.
I would get the correct size and made in Japan. Either OEM or K&L. Unfortunately, Z1Enterprises.com doesn't sell K&L fork seals any more.
Partzilla seems to indicate that they have the 92049-1216 fork seals in stock, but their info isn't always correct. If Partzilla has them, then the Kawasaki dealer should have them as well.

Is the motorcycle a 1974 or 1975 model? I'm not sure what you mean by late 74 Z1.
