new master cylinder install
12 Mar 2018 13:33
On my kz project Im putting on a small aftermarket front master cylinder, braided lines and Grimeca caliper. Trying to get fluid through the line to the caliper and bled out. Cant get fluid through the system to the caliper. Thought it might have been the master cylinder. bought another and trying it. What do I need to do to get fluid moving? Im sure its a simple procedure. Ive bled at the bleeder but not getting fluid moving.

When your just starting bleeding, I wouldn't worry about the bleeder ports until you start to get some pressure built up. Then there is the "fill the res with the handle tied back to the grip" method. Just keep the res filled and let gravity do it's thing. Got a vacuum pump? Put a hose to the loose bleeder and suck the fluid in the lines. Keep ther res filled!
I don't have a plan and I'm sticken' to it! '77 KZ 650 / 750 GPz custom project in progress

Try to use a single-use syringe 100 ml, (the biggest one you can get), for the vacuum on the bleeder.
Do it like azmam857 say: "Then there is the "fill the res with the handle tied back to the grip" method.
or keep on pumping the break leveler.....

I used a speed bleeder last fall which seemed to make the job pretty easy. I set up a simple brake bleeder with clear hose routed to a jar so that I could monitor the amount of air exiting the system. If you don't use speed bleeders, you have to use a bleeder setup of some sort. Either a hose & jar filled with brake fluid or a syringe or a mighty-vac bleeder or something.

Have had success with this
Mighty-Vac makes a similar unit but more costly
Could see no difference in use
Beats the hell out of the pump the handle method
