76 kz 900 fork substitutions

How intechangable are the inner fork tubes and internal valve mechanisms on the 76 kz900

Can 650 inner tubes s be substituted?

Thanks for ideas.

650 stanchions will fit but they are an inch or so shorter.
The fork slider is only held on by a single bolt in the bottom of the slider so the entire stanchion and damping mech is easily swapped.
