Anti-Theft Cable Lock

A Sales brochure for my KZ1000J mentions an anti-theft cable lock and points to a small opening (hole) in the frame near the left shock. Anyone know what this is? I do not recall anything like that and always wondered what it is. Thanks.

There was a cable lock that you could buy from Kawasaki. It slides into the frame & tucks away into the frame when not in use. Once installed, you can't remove it without cutting the frame. The thing is probably a bad idea as it lets water inside the frame. Typically, the frame would have a short tube projecting from the left side of the frame rearward of side cover or thereabouts & there should be a plug for the tube. NOS cable locks are listed on eebbaayy every now n then.

I don't notice the KZ1000s on the model listing. Was a different one used?

Probably.

Here are the 2 pics that aren't showing. 1st one shows the barb that goes into the frame & the reason why you have to cut the thing out.

Was wondering how it "connected". Here is my frame entry point, but I can't see the bottom where it would "hook".

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI don't know much about the thing, but I don't think there are any other frame modifications to accommodate it.
I think it's just designed to slide into the frame & the barb prevents it from being removed.
And like I said, the big problem with it is that it lets water inside the frame. There's usually a black plug fitted into the frame stub.

Yes, what you show is the right plug. I had a plastic chrome plug laying around that fit, so I used that.
