Brake Calipper Bleed Screw

I have dual disc brake front, and on the right caliper has a earlier owner installed custom / bigger bleed screw, properly because he has damage the threats.... I want to install a new bleed screw with dust cover and be able to attach tube for taking out air etc...

So my questions is what to-do, is it possible to order larger bleed off screws for cars or something?

Can I install an helicoil and then be able to use original bleed of screw?

Please see attached picture for sizes and bolt etc...

I would try to figure out what size the threads are, then get a matching speed bleeder.

If the bleeder orifice has been retapped, I wonder if the bottom seat is a good fit for a different bleeder. I don't know if the taper on the end of different bleeder screws is the same or varies. I would want a perfect seal without leaks.

I need to look into these, there are a seat now, but I need to see if the size is larger or not, thank you for your advise.

If it wasn't leaking before, then I would guess you could get a replacement that is the same size as the old bleeder.

Looks like an original bleed screw with a large nut welded on top because the original hex has been rounded off.
A new OEM bleed screw should be a straight fit.

When I take bleed screw from another calliper it just drop in... so the whole is bigger...
So somebody have made it bigger... so the custom made bleed off screw is larger.

I will figure out what MM it has then order new bleed of screw in the same size.

Thank you, I have written these down in my project notes :)
It need to come some later in my project, but good to have a plan :)

What I have not have decided is if I should make bigger thread on the brake caliper on the other site of the wheel...
so the bleed screw size is the same... for the look.... what do you think?

They are available in (M6x1, M7x1, M8x1.25, M8x1, M10x1, M12x1, ...) Europe and (3/8", 1/4", 5/16" NPT 1/4", ...) for GB and USA
cars and motorcycles like NORTON, Harley-Davidson and so on....
Check the threat pitch first with a gauge
