Mac 4-into-1 Exhaust Flanges was created by diego092409
When I bought my 1982 GPZ1100 there was an after market 4 into 1 exhaust installed on the bike which I believe is a Mac system. The previous owner also gave me the original exhaust with out the hardware to hang it so, I left it hanging in my garages into which the bike was parked. As I brainstorm how I want to finish the exhaust on my project, I am wondering if the Mac system used the original exhaust flanges or not, if so, I can reinstall the original exhaust system by fabricating the necessary brackets o support the mufflers.

So, this leads to my question, do the Mac 4-into-1's use the original exhaust flanges?

For sure not on the MAC 4 ->1 that I took off my 750 last March. As you can see from the photo the flanges would have been installed when the exhaust was assembled and were soft and easily bent when tightening down - low torque with short wrench or socket handle - causing exhaust leaks.

Perhaps the MAC you have if indeed a MAC might be a different design. It might be advantageous to post photos of what you have and see how other members respond.

I will take pictures of the ones I have sitting on my bench. They look like the remanufactured ones I can get from Z1 and the MAC kits I find for my bike don't show flanges in their kit.

Perhaps I should just build some passenger foot pegs to which I can mount the MAC exhaust. (the old ones were removed so I could put the GSXR Swing arm on.
