front brake parts was created by mnrenfro
anyone know a source for 76 KZ400-D3 front brake parts. The PO of the bike I bought destroyed the piston. Luckily the bore looks OK. I bought a used full caliper assembly from ebay but I'm sure I'll need to replace the seals, and I can't find these at the usual sites.
any help appreciated.

IMO, if you don't see any signs of leaking on the replacement caliper, and the piston moves freely, I'd run it as-is.
To find discontinued parts you need to search using the Kawasaki part number AND any superceeded part numbers. Sellers on Ebay buy parts lots to sell on Ebay. Search both titles and descriptions. Also a simple Google search of the part number may bring both Ebay and other website results.

OK thanks. I was more or less thinking the same thing but was also just trying to hedge my bet in case it did in fact leak. What I've been doing is going to CMSNL and getting the Kawasaki P/N for a given part and then searching ebay against that P/N.
Thanks again,
Marshall

Partzilla is probably the easiest site to use & they have a cross-reference of sorts. Unfortunately, their x-ref isn't as comprehensive as it used to be.

I'd pop out the piston and see how everything looks inside. If the piston has any pitting it should be replaced. New seals are nice if you can find them but they seem discontinued.
