Rust Holes in frame !!!! was created by Smallzphoto
I just took the whole bike apart down to the frame. I was going to repaint it tomorrow but found 3 small holes in under the frame tube near the kickstand. They are each about the size of a tip of a pencil.

Ive circled them in red in the attached photo.

Im not a welder, nor do I know about structural integrity of frames etc.

I was hoping someone could weigh in on if this look serious and how I should proceed.

Could I get someone to just weld on a small patch? Or is it small enough to just bondo?

KZQ wrote: Hi Folks,
Please read the description of this "Engine" forum before posting here. Seems that a lot of newer members post topics, that belong elsewhere, in this forum just because it's at the top of the listing. In the past we (the Admin Team) have just moved those threads to the proper forums and left a pointer to where the thread was moved. Unfortunately, the pointer thingy doesn't work very well in this version of the software. The end result is that if a thread is posted in the wrong forum we will move it to where it belongs. Once moved that thread may not be easily found. Hopefully this will not result in "Who Deleted My Post?" complaints. I'll leave this thread here for a time and then work it into the forum rules. Thanks for your cooperation. Bill

This topic obviously doesn't relate to the engine -- doh! -- and doesn't belong in the Engine forum.

Moved this topic from Engine forum to Chassis forum where it should have been started in the first place.

Good Fortune!

The holes need welding up.
NEVER use filler on a rusted out frame.
First they need to be opened up further to reveal the extent of the corrosion and to get back to the full thickness of the tube before welding in new steel.
Any good welding shop should be able to do it.
To help prevent further rot spreading it is a good idea to inject some rust inhibitor/neutralizer in to the frame before sealing it up.

I found some holes in my lower frame when I stripped it. Welding was not easy as it is very thin steel. I would take it to a welder that knows his onions.
First though,I would strip the paint off the lower part of the frame (at least) and have a good poke around.See if you can open up any more holes. Better to get them all sorted now than have new ones appearing later.
