Will This Work ? was created by kzdcw
I'm putting together an 18" front wheel on my 77' KZ1000A with has the stock 19". Right now as suggested by the Forum, looking at using the KZ400 front fender.

I've also bought a used KZ1000 front hub from Brian and am awaiting that. Just want to have the option of having 2 different front wheels.

I don't necessary need a new rim so looking at a complete used front wheel from a KZ400. Would using this front wheel assembly as pictured , work on my KZ1000 ?

Steve, I can't see why the wheel itself would be too narrow. My wheel on my KZ1000 is a 1.85 and this wheel on the KZ400 is also a 1.85 ?

Even though the disc bolt pattern on this KZ400 wheel is only on one side , it's still a 4-bolt pattern. But I would be using the other KZ1000 hub I bought from Brian. Thus my stock axle and brake disc assembly should bolt right up.

I would only just be using the rim and spokes ( if spokes good ) from the KZ400 front wheel.

Does this sound reasonable ?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHi Duane, Kawasaki Factory had a lot of misfits over the years. But I sold a 1978 KZ400 front wheel that had identical hub as the bigger KZ900/1000's. But it was narrower at 1.60". dual disc bolt holes. I seen many versions from 74 up as I was looking for info when I sold it.
This was the rim I sold.

I looked at your wheel when you posted it for sale but too narrow at 1.60 instead of 1.85. but otherwise a nice wheel.

It's too bad that the axle diameter of the KZ400 is " smaller " than the KZ1000 or else I would use the complete wheel or can you ?

I did notice that your wheel that you sold had provisions on both sides of the hub to bolt up twin discs like my KZ1000 hub ?
