KZ550 Throttle Cable was created by Tanker2017
Hello, I am new to the forum. I have an '81 KZ550. The previous owner put shorter (drag) bars on the bike that cause the throttle cable elbows to hit the tank if turned full to the right. Is there a common solution/product for this problem? I like the bars, but the tank has already been scratched due to this issue. Thanks for any help!!

Have you tried loosening the 2 screws underneath the RH switch block and throttle housing and rotating the switch block/housing counter clockwise. A small adjustment here might move the metal elbow just far enough forward and upward to avoid dinging the tank.
Of course depending on how tight the cable is that might cause another problem.

(After posting I think I said the same thing as JR)

You might try loosening and rotating the whole throttle assembly part. It would swing the elbows up, depending on how close it is it might get you in the clear.
