18" RIM ON 19" WHEEL ?

Can I mount an 18" rim to my Front 19" wheel assembly on my 77' KZ1000A ? Without looking for a complete 18" front wheel assembly with dual front discs that would fit my "Stock" KZ, is this a feasible swap ?

If your 18" rim has the same number of holes as the hub it should be doable. You will need new shorter spokes to match.

Just curious - why would you want to do that?

In 1978 Kawasaki used an 18" front rim on the Z1R, but they switched back to a 19" front trim when they brought out the following year's Z1R. I suspect they found something they didn't care for with the 18" rim. Ed

i'm about to sell an 18" spoke wheel. for drag bike slick or cool hot rod bike coolness!
It is a KZ900-KZ1000-KZ650 hub. It has the disc brake holes on both sides. I have a 76 KZ900 axle to go with it.
It is perfect for a vintage drag bike. Z1 900 / H2 750 / KZ 900 / KZ1000.
1.85 x 18 / 40 spoke takasago oem rim.
I am about to get some pictures later.

I like the lower looks of the 18" front wheel as opposed to 19". I know the front fender would have to be re-drilled or find another.

The wheel I have is a 1.60" x 18".
I did lower an LTD fender, old pic. I cut the bottom off and welded it
Cool drag bike look. Not good for highway driving with the small rim.
