Fork oil seal thickness - GPZ750 R1 (1982)

A few months ago I bought a pair of fork oil seal for my 1982 GPz750 R1.

It was too thick about 2mm and I could not fit the retainer ring. I looked at what's previously installed it was clearly grounded, perhaps using sandpaper. So I proceeded to do the same.

It did not last long and I need to get a proper one. Is it correct that certain version of GPz750 had thinner seal?

I found this thread discussing it:

Two questions:
What was the Kawasaki part number on the seals you bought?
Are you positive the front forks on the bike are original?

Without part numbers, it's only guesswork. The aftermarket seal brands probably have got their x-ref wrong. The guy in the kaw mc dot org topic didn't bother to provide a part number either. webmoto doesn't provide part numbers & the fork seals they have listed for the 82 GPz seem to have the wrong dimension --- too thick.

Yes, a lot of ebay sellers are just selling 36mm oil seals, the 750R1 is shorter. Had this problem a while ago.
1980 Gpz550 D1, 1981 GPz550 D1. 1982 GPz750R1. 1983 z1000R R2. all four aces
