This is a picture f the frame right above the carbs and airbox. Is there a rubber piece that goes into this slot for the rear of the tank to rest on? If there is what is it called.

You can go to Kawasaki.com under Owner Info or to Partzilla.com and pull up parts diagrams that have the info you seek.

Then search the full part number on eebbaayy. There are several NOS listed, 1 or 2 for about $13T.

Partzilla has a cross-reference, so you can see what other models use the same damper. you might find a good used one on eb for cheap.

Edit: or see Patton's reply for a new inexpensive OEM damper from Z1Enterprises.
Z1Ent probably has other stuff you may need. oil filters. air filter. spark plugs. plug wires. etc etc etc.

The diagrams at Partzilla are the easiest to use & the registration is easy as well. Their parts availability info isn't 100% accurate, but the site is still better than most other places as some don't bother listing any NLA parts as part obsolete. In some cases partzilla will have a photo of a part. you have to be signed in to see the photo. If they have a pic, chances are very good that they have the part. Without a pic, they may still have something if it isn't listed as obsolete. confusing, ain't it.

Sometimes to verify a part, I check the part number at Kawasaki.com, if possible.

Z1Enterprises.com has been a good place to get maintenance & other stuff. I find my bike first, then look in the categories for something. If unsuccessful, I then do a simple search by part name or part number. e.g., rear sprocket.
