Re-sleeving master cylinders?

We have some Z-1 master cylinders in need of being re-sleeved.

Has anyone had this done in the U.S. who could provide results and references?

Interesting....NO more excuse to tearing into that rear M/C now.
Awaiting delivery of rebuild kit for the front also, so bore worries now out of mind, I feel much better about starting these projects

Hi all,
Two places we've contacted say they can do Z-1 MC's.

One claims their stainless steel sleeve is best 'cause it doesn't corrode. The other claims their hardened brass sleeve is best 'cause brass is, by nature, a bearing material.

Anyone here versed in the chemistry of DOT 3/DOT 4 brake fluid vs either sleeve material?

Pretty sure brake fluid won't have any issue with these materials. I do know though that stainless in contact with aluminum can lead to corrosion, that's why anti seize is always recommended on stainless screws in aluminum. Brass is better but not as hard. Both are harder than aluminum though so a brass sleeve should be fine.

Resleeving master cylinders is one of those projects that I have on the back burner.
I was considering stainless steel but brass would be easier to machine. And yes, stainless
steel does corrode. Just look into marine applications. It just takes a little longer.
