Bore size Master Cylinder ?

I just got thru upgrading my 75' Honda GL1000 to a smaller bore M/C and SS lines. Everything came together very well and much better braking performance. Original bore M/C on the GL was 11/16", went to 5/8" bore recommended resulting in a very light brake lever and travel.

On my 77' KZ1000A that I have put together over the last couple of years and upgraded to Dual front disc brakes. I also went to a 5/8" bore M/C which works well but comparing it to my Honda GL1000, it definitely does not feel as well and definitely more brake lever travel ?

Brakes on the the KZ are bled to the best of my ability but I was kind of expecting more. Should I have went with a smaller bore M/C on my KZ ?

A smaller bore will result in more level travel, not less.

Do you still have the original rubber brake lines? If so you should consider changing them to teflon/stainless steel.

Nessism, Yes I do still have the original rubber brake lines and I know I need to change them but just haven't gotten around to it. But after seeing my New SS lines from Galfer, I was impressed to the quality and service !

I thought a smaller bore M/C would give less travel, but now I know. So I'm assuming 5/8" bore is correct ?

5/8 bore is correct for dual front disks. 14mm is for single front disk. Ed
