Inner Fork Tube Bushing - KZ1000K1

Hi everyone,

I did some searching on this site, and many other parts vendors and cannot find the inner fork bushing for my 1981 KZ1000K1 LTD. It is the one that fits into the groove on the bottom of the actual fork tube. If you look in the file I attached, it is on page 1, part #25. All the parts diagrams online and even on Kawasaki's website do not show this part as existing.

Has anyone had luck finding this? Or know of the part number?

I suspect it comes with the fork tube and is not available as a separate piece, This suggests that you should be searching for a used fork tube for your model...making sure, of course that it comes with the tube.

I hope that isn't the case. It's definitely a separate split piece that is meant to come off. It's a wear item, so I hope there is something out there. Otherwise I might just put it back together as is. The only issue with it is that the teflon coating on it is worn down some. It's not too bad, but I figured I would replace it while I'm in there and replacing everything else.

I would measure it, then check if there are any generic/aftermarket bushings available somewhere.

Not available and it did come as a one piece with the bottom piece.

Thanks. I couldn't find a part number for that bush in any of my links. Unfortunately, it looks like Kawasaki recommends replacing the fork tube if that bush is badly damaged. I think the image below is clipped from the same manual. Ed

Try these people...they sell fork bushings and you might get lucky.

Great link there, they have quite a random selection of parts. I'll save that user. It looks like they only carried the outer bearings. Which is one that is still readily available

I actually sent an e-mail out to about 5 different companies, and they got back to me and asked for some measurements. I'm going to send them some info and see what they can do. More importantly how much it might cost. I'll start browsing for replacement inner tubes as well.
