Speedometer drive

Hello all, I know this topic isn't really chassis but nor is it engine or electrics.
I've just fitted pretech 6 pot calipers to my mk2 z1000 and the speedo cable is really tight around the caliper.
The cable drive fits into a slot on the fork leg and can't be rotated. I really need something like a 45degree adapter to clear the left caliper. Has anyone else got over a similar problem ?
Thank you. Simon.

Never seen or heard of an angled adapter or anything like that. Sometimes you can file or mill the nub (for lack of a better term) off of the speedo drive and rotate it some. The clamping force of the axle will stop it from rotating while the bike is in motion.

On another note though: are you getting full pad to rotor engagement? It looks like the caliper is too far away from the center of the rotor in the first pic.

Great looking bike though!

Hello Doug. I thought about milling or filing the drive so it rotates. I just think if the cable were around the underside of the caliper it would look odd.
I think it's just the camera angle on the first sideways photo. The calipers are a straight bolt on product.
Can't wait to try them out when the weather gets better.
Thank you. Simon.
