16" e1 (ltd) to 18" b rear wheel swap

I've got an 80 ltd with 16" mags. Is it a direct swap to throw 18" mags from a b1 on this? Or am I going to be in a world of hurt?

250? 650? 750 twin? 1100?

Is the LTD belt or chain drive?

There is a large number of possibilities, more specifics will draw more useful answers. Putting your bike's info in your signature line will save you from having to retype it in every thread.

I'll guess it's a 1980 650-E1 w Rr drum brake. The B1 has wire spoked wheels. For cast alloy, probably the closest match will be an 80 650-F1 or a 550A. One of those might be a direct bolt-on, or nearly so. If not direct fit, the difference is probably minor, needing only some spacers or washers to make up the difference. I didn't do a part by part comparison, but at Partzila those models share some rear wheel/hub parts. If it's not a 650, then never mind.

I worked on swapping a KZ1000A rear 18" wheel to an LTD. Wow that was some work. I had a rear wheel spacer made and then the LTD caliper doesn't work, I bought an "A" caliper. In the end, I sold the LTD with the stock wheels and kept the extra parts.

Hey all! Yes, sorry I didn't respond with what bike.. it's the 650 e1 with the 16" mag rear.

Funny enough, I was triolling Craigslist and found a guy giving away a 77 650 c3 with 18" mags and disc brakes all around.

I picked it up, and I'll do the swap and use the c3 swingarm if needed.
