95 GSXR 1100 or 98 GSXR 750 - fork/swingarm swap??

I have the option of getting 1 of 2 separate bikes for fairly cheap.

First, 95 GSXR 1100 roller:
- 1995 Titled Roller. This means a frame, wheels, tires, front end, swing arm. A rolling chassis.
- Untitled drag frame. Clean, undertray, ready to build.
- 1 rack of Mikuni BST36 flatslides.
- 2 Headlight Assy.
- Various engine parts (some odds and ends.)
- 2 Gauge Clusters.
- Airbox
- Various plastics /Fairings
- 2 Fuel tanks
- Misc parts, Shocks, Grab rail, hardware, cooling fan.
- 2 Exhaust Headers

Second, 98 GSXR 750 complete bike that apparently just needs coil packs?? His ad:
I have a 1998 suzuki gsxr 750. I have everything for the bike. I have it taken apart right now because i had to put new starter on it. And it needs coil packs and that's it. The fairings are primered and ready for paint. The bike had 55k miles. Changed oil every 3000 miles. The bike ran excellent before starter went out. All you need is coil packs and your riding.

Out of these 2 ads, which would be a better choice for a fork and swingarm swap? My hopes are that I can complete my desired look with either one of these bikes, but out of the 2, don't know which would be easier/better to swap. Everything else I would part out and recoup some cash...maybe even profit some.

I did have a bead on a complete 94 ZX9R, but it sold before I got to him.

Give me your opinions and thoughts please. Any measurements and dimensions of the forks and swingarm would be helpful as well. Or if anyone has used these exact parts to do their swap.

Id go for the one with the longest forks.Not sure which one that is though ( I think the ZX9Rs have the longest USDs) There is a list somewhere with the various fork lengths. I had it but cant find it.Someone else here must have it or a link to it. Not sure if either swingarm is going to fit in a Z. I do know a GSXR600 swingarm will fit as thats what I put in mine.Have a look through the various project threads. Good luck.

i'm thinking the 95 1100 is going to be the quicker easier fit.
depending on how much your willing to mod your frame you may have to cut the hoop off the top of the arm.you can leave it off or weld a new one on the bottom.
what bike are you planning to hang these pieces on?

I couldn't find anything on these particular bikes either. I think I came across that list as well, but it didn't help any for these 2 bikes.

These are going on my KZ900A5...in my signature. I was more leaning towards the 98 750 ONLY because worst case I replace the parts that it needs to get running and flip it for a profit then keep searching for another ZX9. I definitely don't want to completely waste my time either if none of these are great candidates.

Hoping more might chime in with more specifics on these 2 bikes....

The 1100's generally have longer forks, so I'd go for that if you wish to retain ground clearance. Are you building this bike to improve handling or just for looks..? I ask because the swingarm will be around 4 inches longer than stock, whilst it may look good, it won't improve handling.... To do the front properly you may need to look at new triple clamps too, the offset will be different which will alter trail and also effect handling... If you are aware of all this just ignore my comment... ;)
PS, I think your bike looks great as it is....

It's more for looks...but handling as well. With modern brakes, tires, and suspension I would imagine all these aspects would improve.

After some more research, I've come across the GSX Katana as a good option to use for a front and rear swap as well. And one can find these fairly cheap pretty much everywhere.

1100 forks are longer....im using the 93 1100 . As the rear goes I don't like them...2-3 longer.
All balls bearing has a bearing kit for a direct swap or you can swap stems.

So, out of the 2 bikes...the 1100 forks are longer. What's the length difference of the 1100 to my stock forks? Still shorter? By how much?

Still shorter by about an inch. Don't forget that if you use modern 17" wheels you loose height there also. My 77 had a 19" stock front so I lost an inch of clearance in just the wheel swap. The other issue you will have is the turning radius will be gone if you use the GSXR triple. After trying just a bearing swap I opted to make a custom drop triple that allows me to use the KZ stem and get close to the same offset as stock.

Thanks Jon, I'm hoping to make a decision on which parts bike I want to go with. I've been told the early 90's Katanas are a good candidate as well. So between the 1100 and the Katana, I'm sure I can find one for dirt cheap and start swapping.

i have the 750 forks on mine the 1100 would be a better choice i think they are 1 to 1.5 inches longer
