I used a big screwdriver & hammer. Tightening was kind of a pain but no big deal, as you have to go by feel, tightening & loosening until it seems right. I thought I saw somewhere in the factory manual where Kawasaki has a suggested method for tightening the locknut when you don't have the special tool, but I couldn't find it. or maybe that was for the big steering stem nut. ???

Please don't hammer on a screwdriver. A drift punch would be a much better choice.
