Rear Brakes for 81 KZ440 LTD
24 Oct 2016 04:59
Any recommendations as to where to purchase a reasonably priced set of rear brakes. I looked on Amazon and found some made by "Caltric" for a little over $10. Seems awfully cheap and only had a one star rating. I don't mind spending a little extra especially when it comes to brakes, but prefer not to spend anymore than I have to. Thanks guys.

The Kawasaki dealer price may be reasonable. Partzilla has oem brake shoes listed for fairly cheap.
I installed Vesrah brake shoes several years ago with no problems. made in Japan. KZ440 Vesrah = VB-413
Z1Enterprises.com may have either vesrahs or oem. Z1Ent carries EBC, but there were some reports a couple of years ago about ebc brake shoes not fitting right. I don't recall if the problem was with the 440 shoes or 750-Twins or both.
ps: caltric are made in china. no thanks.

Those Caltric rear shoes should be fine. The rear brake is only for holding you steady at a stop anyway. All the braking power is in the front while riding.
BTW, Emgo and Vesrah shoes are about $20 shipped on ebay.
