If you would like to donate to help me afford a Michelin, I would be happy to buy a better tire.

Until then I will use what I can afford.

Take the tire to a Kenda dealer and show them the problem. You may find that Kenda will replace the tire for free since it appears to be a defect. Ed

I will save the tire. The Kenda warranty policy does not include the bead area but I will ship it back anyways and see what happens.

There is a difference between cheap and inexpensive. My $.02: don't go cheap on something as critical as tires. There isn't much contact between your bike and the road so you should make it good. If that means shuffling priorities or skipping restaurants, bars, etc. for a while in order to afford a better tire then I think that makes sense.

Many years ago I was in the military and did not have much money, so I put a cheap rear tire on my bike. After a number of close calls related to lack of grip from that tire I decided I would never use cheap tires again. Again, my $.02. (Or $.04 now, I guess.)

The re-tired wheels should be ready by day's end :)
I prefer to let the pro's have this project.
