82 550c Frame

I have a 82 kz550c ltd it got hit in the rear. What I would like to know does any other share the same frame

I bet all of the 550C frames are very similar to each other (1980-83). From the part numbers I found, the 80-81 have the same frame & the 82-83 have the same frame. Any differences are probably minor. If you find any listed on eebbaayy, you could do some comparisons.

The diagrams at Kawasakai.com are down right now, but powersportswarehouse has the part numbers listed below.
You should double check them yourself. I only checked using the 80 model.

1980 550-C1 = #32002-1215
1981 550-C2 = #32002-1215
1982-83 550-C3/C4 = part #32002-1327

In the 550 world, I do tend to see minor differences between the 80 and 82 models, with 81 being intermediate. This is with motor and chassis differences. Sometimes the parts are interchangeable, but still have a different number for some reason. And sometimes, like in the brakes, the part is visibly quite different.

The biggest possible difference, but I'm not sure it holds on the C Ltd model, is how the rear footpegs mount. In the standard A model, the rear footpeg subframe was steel tubing. Then it was later an aluminum casting. You'll want to look at the C Ltd frame in case that also had that type of difference.

If the damage is limited to the rear subframe you may be able to tweak it back assuming it's not too bad. A long 2x4, a comealong, and large sledge can work some magic as long as the damage isn't too bad.

Did exactly that on a big 1100GS Beamer after my buddy crashed it. We were surprised at how easy it was and how well it turned out. Saved boat-load of cash on that!

Thanks for the idea I put a tow strap around the frame and on the tail section and was able to stretch to out. I'm back riding again
