Help Needed with Case Guard Bolts was created by Kirkpatrick
Just picked up a set of case guards for my 83 KZ550A4 but they did not come with the hardware. I found the stock bolts below from a parts diagram and was wondering if anyone here knew what the size increase is needed on the bolts because of the case guard bracket and what the actual pitch of the bolt is. I know they are metric (ie 8x60 = M8x60mm). Any help is appreciated.

(2) 92001 - BOLT, HEX HEAD, 10X84 (Left Lower & Right Lower)
(1) 92001B - BOLT, FLANGED, 8X60 (Right upper - 1 of 3 bolts)
(1) 92001C - BOLT, FLANGED, 8X70 (Right upper - 1 of 3 bolts)
(1) 92001D - BOLT, FLANGED, 10X60 (Right upper - 1 of 3 bolts)
(1) 92001E - BOLT, FLANGED, 10X70 (Left upper)

Just trying to figure out it if I simply go 10mm longer on a set of replacement bolts, will that work or will they be too long then. The brackets on the case guards are about 1/4" with the steel and powder-coat. Don't know how much extra thread room there is in the cases but could always use a washer. Just a little difficult to find the 8mmx65 vs the even number 8mmx70.

Something to be aware of is the bolt head size. The local fastener place nearby had M10 bolts but the bolt heads were too big to fit into the engine recesses. I ended up getting 3/8" bolts instead. doh.

On the right side, do I need to keep the triangle engine/frame mount? The engine guard I have already has one as part of its design?
