KZ Engine Guards not the same.

Recently purchased off ebay a set of engine guards for my 83 kz550 sport. Long story short, they are for an 82 kz550 and do not fit. I have researched online and found several case guards to all fit the KZ550 from 81-83. The ones I bought are from KG Engineering and here is the link. The issues is with the center bolt location and it being offset. No way it could fit in the engine mount cradle because this bolt/weld is flat and the engine mount cradle is curved to fit the frame.

I am confused because many of the other case guards available fit all KZ's from 81-83 yet these are year specific.

They may be specifically for the GPz, so the GPz frame could be different from the other 550s.
Related, I bought some MC Enterprises 3-pt case savers for my 650, advertised to fit various 650/750 models, but the fitment list that came with them did not include the 750 GPz which has some differences in the frame.
