Drag bars

22 Feb 2016 15:03

I'm looking to run a flat drag style bar on my '76 900. Any suggestions? Pics of any of yall running this style bar? I've looked around at a few but I don't know what's a decent bar and what's junk.

Also, are the factory switch housings worth reconditioning or would i be just as well to replace? I don't have blinkers so minimal function is needed, I just don't like the worn and used look. B)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Running a drag bar would (IMO) look good. There'won't be much room left over once you squeeze the grips, levers and brake master cylinder on. The main thing will be to get shorter gas and clutch cables. Shortest stock ones are for a Z1R.....check out Z1 Enterprises

NO! NO! Too low for these KZ motorcycles. There as ugly as clubman bars.
You need the lower, Daytona, Superbike, Euro style bars.
Gives it the classy look. Emgo's are the cheapest. They don't have the knurled, groves at the clamps.
Plenty of bars out there. Anywhere between $20-$40 dollars
Livin in "CheektaVegas, NY
Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.
I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.
More room for The Old Girl, Harley 75 FLH Electra Glide,
Old faithful! Points ign. Bendix Orig. carb.
Starts everytime!

Thanks for the info. I was concerned about tank interference since I will be riding this bike on the street. I don't mind spending a couple bucks on decent bars. I know I want black and i want the knurled grooves at the clamps. Suggestions on where to buy?

There's this thing on my computer, it's called google   sorry!
Or search eBay. 100's of them.
That's how I found these bars. ($32 to my door) 1st time I ever seen them. look like old chopper bars, when they used dog bone risers with the flat drag bike bars. If your using all the stock stuff on the bars, you need at least 29" - 30" wide.
Good Luck!
