OK - just so we're on the same page. This is my first bike. Never been on one in my life. Never worked on one but I'm learning. I recently acquired a non running 1976 kz750 twin for $250. Overall things are in surprisingly good shape. Minimal rust - the exhaust down by the mufflers has seen better days but for now I'm concentrating on other things. Waiting on an ignition coil before I can try to make it run so I figured I would get on the brakes. Both brakes locked up tight. I managed to finagle the front master cylinder loose and I'm buying a rebuild kit for it. The rear master cylinder is a whole different flavor of headache - I have a plan for getting the piston out but for the life of me I can't find a rebuild kit for it. Does someone make them and I'm just not seeing it? If not are the parts interchangeable with other models from other years that might be easier to find? Just trying to gauge my options before I go all Macgyver on it.

I took both calipers off and was able to move the piston and spew brake fluid on myself so for the time being I'm operating under the assumption they're fine.

Yes I have. Z1 is where I first found the front master cylinder rebuild kit and they do have rear master cylinder kits for 5/8 bore but the kit specifies that it is for a double disc setup. I'm not entirely certain what that means

So the rear MC kit specifies it's for a double disk setup?...hmmm quite odd to say the least.....................Mike

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationMy stock front master cylinder needed to be rebuilt about 10 yrs. ago ,after pricing rebuilt kits for it , it was cheaper for me to buy a new master cylinder from this place, & it still works as good if not better than the stock one

I had found a rebuild kit for $34 but considering the negligible price difference new does seem like a better option. Thank you for that. Do you know of any convenient aftermarket options for a rear master cylinder? Finding something that doesn't need just as much work as mine is proving difficult.
